We are happy to share with you the following updates from our student life committee, with tremendous help from Dr. Fatmi and Mr. Adel Kamane:
As part of our longstanding efforts to push for highly-request products and for more variety in options, namely affordable ones, to be added to the Campus Store offerings, we are happy to announce the arrival of long requested items to the shop by October 15th. These products include:
- More cereal options: Lions, Nesquik, etc.
- Cheese slices
- Panini bread
- Spices (Moroccan Brand)
The aforementioned items will replace the AUI Merch that will be moved to the old book store for the time being. Accordingly, the SGA is still working on providing ‘Dinde/Jambon fumé’ among other products to the shop.
Following many complaints received about the 1 – 3MAD fees for every “sachet” and “sac emporté” from Newrest and Proxirest, SGA investigated the matter. Needless to say, these charges don’t sit well with us since takeout is not a choice but a necessity given the current health circumstances. As such, it is unreasonable to ask students to pay for these charges.
We are happy to inform you that these fees will no longer apply. The takeout fee will apply only if students take aluminum trays. The latter can also be avoided if the student brings their own containers.
Fruits and Vegetables on campus
Since the beginning of the semesters, off-campus mobility restrictions have been rightfully implemented to mitigate the risk and as part of the Covid-19 safety measures. Still, these restrictions have suspended students’ ability to buy vegetables and fruits, which students couldn’t procure from any service provider on-campus.
Today, we are more than delighted to announce that fruits and vegetables will be offered in Building 14 (the middle space next to Proxirest between the two stairways) starting next week. It will include potatoes, tomatoes, onions, carrots, cucumbers, apples, and bananas. They will be sold in 0.5 kg units. A survey will be shared soon in order to expand the offering and cater to more needs.
Main gate access
We are aware of the safety hazard caused by the restricted exit timeslots and cashwallet checking workflow at the maingate.
Therefore, it is our pleasure to announce that you can now leave campus anytime (before the curfew) for 2.5 hours and that an automatic identification system will be implemented soon.
We would like to thank you for your patience while we try to ensure the safety of our community.
Please bear in mind that the rollout during the first week will involve some trial and error. Feedback will be much appreciated
